Clearwater Pool Maintenance

Five Practical Ways to Keep Your Clearwater Pool in Better Shape

Clearwater's warm weather and long swimming season make pools enjoyable almost year-round, but those same conditions mean water chemistry, debris, filtration and equipment need regular attention. These five fundamentals can help prevent avoidable problems and keep your pool easier to maintain.

1

Maintain Proper Pool Water Balance

Regular water testing helps you monitor chlorine, pH and other chemistry as Clearwater heat, rainfall and heavy pool use change water conditions. Consistent water care helps reduce cloudy water, irritation and algae problems.

2

Keep the Pool Filter Clean

Your filter plays a central role in circulation and water clarity. Debris and buildup can restrict normal flow, so routine filter cleaning and maintenance help the circulation system perform the way it should.

3

Remove Leaves & Debris Consistently

Leaves, insects and everyday debris can quickly accumulate in Florida pools. Skimming, brushing and routine cleaning keep that material from sitting in the water or working its way into baskets and filtration equipment.

4

Pay Attention to Pool Equipment

Pumps, filters, heaters, lights and automation equipment should be observed during normal pool maintenance. Changes in circulation, unusual sounds, leaks or other visible problems can be signs that equipment needs attention.

5

Keep Pool Maintenance Consistent Year-Round

Clearwater's climate makes swimming possible throughout much of the year, but pool conditions still change with rainfall, heat, storms and seasonal use. A consistent service schedule makes it easier to stay ahead of water, cleaning and equipment issues instead of waiting for a neglected pool to become a larger project.

Clearwater Pool Care

Florida Conditions Make Consistency Matter

Pool maintenance is not just about making the water look good on service day. Heat, rain, organic debris and frequent swimming can all affect the pool between visits.

A dependable maintenance routine combines physical cleaning, water testing, filtration care and basic observation of the pool equipment. Staying consistent can help identify problems earlier and keep the pool ready for regular use.

What to Watch

Common Pool Maintenance Priorities

  • Changing water chemistry after rain or heavy use
  • Leaves, insects and organic debris
  • Restricted filtration or circulation
  • Algae and cloudy water
  • Visible pump, heater or equipment concerns

Corneliu is amazing! He took my pool from an algae-ridden swamp to a pristine oasis in record time. I initially called him with a very small window of time, and he went above and beyond. Thanks to him, we’ll be able to enjoy the pool at our rental when we fly in tomorrow. He was able to scrub all of the algae, chlorine-wash, and refill the pool in a matter of hours. I really wish I could find a company like this back home in Dallas.

I’d also like to add that he was very responsive. I sent him a text and we were able to FaceTime almost immediately. He went through the current condition of the pool, the proposed approach and quote, etc all while I was on the other side of the country. After sending me payment links via text, he was able to start work immediately. I had reached out to half a dozen other companies previously, and Corneliu was already done with the job while I was still hearing back from the rest of them!

I would’ve left zero stars, but that was not an option. Terrible customer service. The last three times they serviced our pool we timed their technician and he was here less than 10 minutes on each of the three occasions. On the last visit he claimed he tested the pool water and added chemicals. We never saw him do that. On all three of the last visits, we took a sample of the pool water to a local pool store and had the water tested. His results were way off. We had to purchase chemicals on three separate occasions to bring the chemistry to where it needed to be. When we canceled service the owner promised us a refund for the last two visits, but what he actually did was charge our account for two more visits. Absolutely terrible Customer Service the owner didn’t seem to give a crap that he had provided us with bad service. Don’t waste your money go to a reliable pool service.

In response to the owners reply he is completely delusional. I never threatened to post a bad review, I never had any contact with him. Regarding the testing of the pool water my wife watched him like a hawk because we wanted to see if he tested the water and added chemicals. HE NEVER TESTED THE WATER, OR ADDEED CHEMICALS. He claims the chlorine level was 1 ppm. Our testing, and a reliable pool company’s testing, showed zero chlorine. He never tested the water and he never added chemicals. We know that for a fact. You are charging us for this service which was never performed. You can defend your actions as long as you want, but we know the honest truth about the lies and terrible service your company provided.

I was pretty certain my pool needed a new motor and impeller, so I called a company my friend recommended....they responded immediately to help her during our last "dual" hurricane hit.
I was initially impressed by getting a guick return call from the owner of the company, then by his proposal to install a slightly used Hayward, variable speed unit , still under warranty for 33 more months of its 3 yr warranty! Install

It's rare to find service this reliable these days. I reached out to Corneliu at Pool Pal about a leak in my pool equipment, and he was out the next day to handle the repairs. He was extremely professional, courteous, and his craftsmanship is exceptional. If you’re looking for someone who actually shows up and does top-tier work, I’d recommend Corneliu to anyone in need of repairs.

They come every week at the same time. They send a report of what they did and chemicals added along with pictures.

2/27/25 Update: i have canceled my services. Nothing about their maintenance service was short of excellent but when it came to negotiating repairs i just didnt appreciate the way Corneliu dealt with me as an existing customer. I was trying to find a way to use different equipment of the same brands he was suggesting to lower the price but he was very abrasive and uninterested and only wanted to use the best and most expensive models. Which is always a plus for a customer as you would always want to be recommended the best equipment but thats just not what i wanted for a rental property. All in all i still recommend them but our conversation just ruined my relationship/experience with pool pal.

We first came across PoolPal from a rental property we stayed at. They were always on time, respected our privacy and kept the pool crystal clear 100% of the time. During the last hurricane, they went the extra mile to not only check on us but made adjustments to our chemicals from the downpour! Along with fixing any mechanical issues pool related- he was even kind enough to educated on any questions I had-you really can’t beat their customer service!! You won’t find that anywhere else! We loved their service so much that we carried them over to our new place and recommend them to ANYONE AND EVERYONE that has a pool! Highly recommend their services-you WONT be disappointed!!
